Data is accurate and data points are sourced (in each row) but some documents have not been referenced e.g. Island strategic plans for those pa enua islands that have them. Based on 2017 documents but last worked on 27 March 2018.
This list of indicators was developed through the Inform project at SPREP for use by Pacific Islands countries (PICs) to meet their national and international reporting obligations. The indicators are typically adopted by PICs for their State of Environment reports and are intended to be re-used for a range of MEA and SDG reporting targets. The indicators have been designed to be measurable and repeatable so that countries can track key aspect of environmental health over time.
The Landuse layer of Rarotonga was produced in 2009/2010 under the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Project. This project was co-implemented by NES and MOIP.
The layer was produced by digitizing from satellite imagery and carrying out random checks on the field.
